Thursday Community Night
Bring your friends and family to our FREE Thursday night dance! Get ready for the evening with a Beginner Drop-in Class at 8:00 pm, followed by dancing from 8:45 pm - 12 midnight. You can expect a variety of music you can swing dance, and a free-to-enter slow dance strictly before the night ends. There will also be line dances led by Dance Force Productions Robin Carlson and Jerry Foote. It’s a party that you don’t want to miss!!
Community Brunches
On Saturday and Sunday come to a community chat over brunch before the classes begin. Dive into a discussion on the why behind many things we love in our community. This event is completely free to join but we will have brunch available for purchase!
Late Night Popsicles!
We are excited to host late-night parties with incredible music and fun contests, but we know how toasty it can be in Texas… even in March! So grab a popsicle and take a break with us in the Rose Garden beginning at midnight.
Taster Classes!
We are excited to offer taster classes this year at Lindyfest. We want to bring classes for the community by the community, so if you have a class topic you are interested in teaching (does not need to be swing dance specific), please fill out the taster form and we will let you know if your class has been picked! More details coming soon.
DJ Gathering
With our goal of creating as many spaces as possible to connect, Lindyfest is happy to offer an opportunity for DJs to gather! Whether you are a DJ in your local scene or at big events, let’s get together. This will be a great time to discuss the successes, struggles, and the things that bring us together: the music we love.
The panel will include Wan-Yen Huang, Jerry Foote, and more
Teacher Gathering
With Lindyfest being such a central hub for many dancers, instructors, and organizers, we’d like to offer a time for people who teach Lindy hop or swing dancing to come together and ask questions, share knowledge, and think about how we can better serve the swing community.
The panel will include Erin Morris, Naomi Uyama, Justin Mann, and Jason Hsu.
LGBTQIA+ Meetup
We are really excited to host a casual meetup for LGBTQIA+ identified dancers. we will have some music, casual space for people to connect, and a wrap-up conversation. This gathering is being hosted by Jason Hsu on Sunday 4:30-6 PM in the Rose Garden.
Organizer Gathering
Similar to our teacher gathering, we are excited to offer a gathering for organizers! Whether you are organizing local swing communities, workshops, or large-scale events- or are interested in beginning to organize these types of events join us for a discussion! We will talk about different aspects of organizing and allow for some Q&A discussion with the panel and other organizers present.
The panel will include Alesandra Bull, Peter Strom, and Jason Hsu!
BIPOC Meetup
AJ Howard will host this casual meetup for BIPOC dancers with music, dancing, space to connect with other attendees, and a wrap-up conversation at the end. Join AJ in the Rose Garden on Sunday from 1:30-3 PM.
