Golden Hour Heptet
Friday night
The Golden Hour Heptet plays swing music for dancing and listening inspired by the great jazz artists of the 1930s and 40s, such as Don Byas, Slam Stewart, Edmond Hall, Johnny Hodges, Johnny Guarnieri, Lester Young, et. al. The Heptet features tight 3-horn arrangements as well as spontaneous, fresh interpretations of classic and original jazz tunes.

The Golden Hour Orchestra is an expanded iteration of Austin’s own Golden Hour Heptet. Led by Lauryn Gould, along with co-conspirator, Ryan Gould, this 10-piece “little big band” features a stellar lineup of musicians playing new arrangements of classic swing tunes, deep cuts, and a few originals — all lovingly crafted with dancers in mind. Expect to hear new interpretations of the music of Count Basie, Duke Ellington, Johnny Hodges, Edmond Hall, Don Byas, Slam Stewart, Lester Young, Mary Lou Williams, John Kirby, The International Sweethearts of Rhythm, Coleman Hawkins, Maxine Sullivan, et al.

Late Night

We are excited to keep the dancing going with late-night dancing happening in our main ballroom on Friday night to DJ music until 2 am. We will feature late-night contests that are free to enter!
Friday and Saturday After-party Dancing
Join us in the Rose Garden after the main ballroom closes down, for more dancing to DJ’d music. There will be a few dance floors set up in this space as well as plenty of seating if you aren’t quite ready to leave the music.
Sunday Night DJ Relay

Our DJ Relay Party on Sunday night in the Rose Garden is our final dance of the weekend. Our DJs will pick different themes and carry us through the night with some of their favorite songs. You’ll get to hear from a whole panel of DJs as we wrap up the weekend. You may even catch a late-night contest before the night ends.
