The Lone Star Championships

The Lone Star Championships are comprised of social competitions – focused on improvised, non-choreography dancing. Not only does this showcase amazingly talented social dancers, but it allows you to spend your precious time having fun and not prepping for contests!

Contest Rotation

While we have hosted open level Balboa and recently open Shag contests, this year we have decided to put these contests on a 3 year rotation. For 2024, we will have a solo jazz competition!

Solo Jazz Contest

The Solo Jazz contest is a solo American vernacular jazz dance competition. Dancers must include Charleston and/or vernacular jazz movements. In the prelims you will dance to 3 songs of varying tempos, each dancer is judged individually. The finals will be danced in a spotlight format to a live band.

OPEN – $20 entry fee

This division is open to all dancers.
Prizes: $75 for 1st, $50 for 2nd, $30 for 3rd
